I liked the idea, it was a bit edgy but cool. Better than Morlocks and the token white Jewish girl Kitty Pride. “You're a nigger, and I'm the pretty white Jewish girl with cool superpowers.” Claremont was edgy but missed the mark. Morrison is being edgy, but at least it's funny.

He criticized the shallowness of these beautiful but empty characters. Angel is by far the best character in the book and, along with Quentin, one of Morrison's top 10 OCs. Making her “trashy” forces X-Men to face itself. Since Ororo, who is cleverly absent from this series, is the complete opposite. But it wasn't just Morrison who criticized X-Men's colorism and warped social politics.
