Thereβs an episode where the whole town gets piled up with too much garbage so they just move it a few miles down the road. That includes the buildings. In the original episodes, Homer jumps from his house to Moeβs as theyβre being moved. In the edit OP has chosen to display, Homer misses the jump and is run over by the truck carrying Moeβs.

There's an easy enough to spot correlation between interest in The Simpsons and your country being ruled by a literal cartoon character.

Literally all of Latin America is obsessed with The Simpsons. Argentina is just especially loud about it because they act like the special snowflake of the region and think they're unique for it.
Even though Argentina is numbah wan when it comes to be Simpsons fans, there's a Chilean TV station that aired basically nothing but The Simpsons for a couple of years.
It was a big controversy for several reasons, but at the end it worked and the network was saved.
Simpsons shitposting started in the early 10s when a lot of barely literate favelados bough laptops and started using facebook. They got to MSPainting simpsons characters wearing their favourite futbol clubs
People then discovered there was dozens of Simpsons futbol graffities spread though Buenos Aires favelas and the meme took a life of it's own
/int/'s /lat/ was one of the early adopters. Then came late-stage Taringa. Then facebook Simpsons meme pages started doing it unironically as some of the shittiest relatable comic parodies you can image.
Much later otaku reddit subs adopted it as a way to "subtly" be anti-poor (class divisions in argentina are like race divisions in the USA) and the meme blew up and got super schizo.
This all happened like 10 years before english speakers started doing simpsons edits. Suck my dick gringos we did it first

I don't think Brazil cares that much about the Simpsons anymore. The things it's obsessed with to this day are Woody Woodpecker, El Chavo and Dragon Ball... and the old X-Men cartoons...?

Not counting Britain, Ireland, Spain, Australia, Mexico and New Zealand as they're and were equally Obsessed with The Simpsons as Argentina.

Not true, remember that time Sean Penn was banging Cristina Kirchner because he's not over Madonna and in his mind dating the Argentinian president was like dating the star of Evita because his brain is all messed up and he's kind of dumb? That was funny as fuck.
All Latin America (or at least a great part of it) is like that, argentinians just feel the most special out of them because their grandpas knew hitler or some shit.

It's this. Dubs tend to change too many things to localize and it can backfire spectacularly. But the Simpsons managed to do it well, due to good use of jokes and charismatic voice actors. It just works so well that it feels that the show could have been made in LatAm.
People like you is the reason we have the annoying ass trope of the latin american character calling "amigo/amiga" to anyone they talk to. Like if being the "niΓ±o rompebolas del salΓ³n" is the norm for us.
