It's a peculiar thing, there's an inherent element of sexy people doing things imbues sexiness, and then there's an extreme where that becomes window dressing and the appeal is in the abuse, reflecting at the very least an inclination towards sadism.

MK is a weird case in it's early incarnations while gory it was silly and cartoonish, but modern iterations at it's current level of graphical fidelity do cross into the distasteful.
