I mihjt be wrong but saw the trailer and it gave me impression that now we have a gang of girlbosses that are here to be better than the crew and to humiliate them.
Other than that I never was that into the style of the og movie, too round and cuddly. Also hated the shark being effiminate (plus akwafina spider)

It is tracking the exact same as the first one.
This series simply seems to have a ceiling of a 200-250 million range.

Kitty blackmails the Bad Guys into working for her because they lack the expertise to pull off the job on their own. The movie is actually pretty devoid of gender politics, like, at all. One of the Bad Girls is straight up a fangirl for the bad guys and the other (Doom the raven) is in a relationship with Snake and is basically also a fangirl. The movie makes it clear that Kitty could not have pulled off her heist on her own, and the ultimate power move is to dupe the bad guys into pulling off the ultimate heist for her so she can reap the reward. And it should come as no surprise that the movie does not depict Kitty's actions as good or moral at all.
