What do we think of the marvel cartoons that came out after they were bought?
Anonymous No.150040739 >>150043183
I never watched avengers assemblem but from what i heard. it was terrible (and they were salty because they cancelled EMH)
I was salty because they cancelled Spectacular and couldn't stand Ultimate at all so i tuned out early, but was told later seasons were okay-ish.
Hulk was all around terrible. Family guy tier with the cutaway interview gags. I do sort of appreciate them exploring the hulk mythos, even if it's awful.
I didn't know there was a Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon until very later and never really watched it.
All around, a terrible era for marvel cartoons and the losses that were caught in the crossfire of the buying were too big.

I liked the Hulk show. It was retarded but entertaining.

I don't know
My relationship with Marvel ended after they were bought

It was bad. Marvel was on the verge of a cartoon golden edge, but lost all momentum with the Disney buy. The X-Men didn't get another cartoon until last year.

Made for kids with ADHD by people that didn't know how to make cartoons for kids with ADHD.

Visually like, they weren't that bad, but gosh, they were a total downgrade compared to spectacular spider-man and avengers earth mightiest heroes.
In the end most of those shows didn't take themselves seriously, because most of them had a comedic tone (ultimate spider-man comes to my mind) while all of them had the horrible idea to converge and made synergy with the marvel cinematic universe, instead of using actual comic book lore, with in my humble opinion is why all of them were trash in regards of quality.

Insulting.

I gave it a chance. I wanted to be fair. But it was so dreadfully plain and boring. It was boring. And it looked boring. I know the soul v souless meme gets tossed around a lot but that's what this was. It was noise. Noise that vaguely sounded like the popular thing. It didn't engage. It didn't entertain. It just filled air.

They were probably a bit overhated from the big Marvel fanbases (Spidey fans lost Spectacular, Avengers lost EMH, and X-Men got nothing), but they also didn't stand out too much (beyond some first-time adaptations I suppose).
I remember how really weird the continuity was, like Vision just kinda pops up with JARVIS's voice with FRIDAY replacing him as Tony's suit AI with no explanation.

The word "slop" gets thrown around a lot on this site, but I think it perfectly applies here. Loeb and co thought kids are fucking retarded so they created entertainment on that exact braindead level.
Ultimate Spider-Man was horrible, I'm saying this as somebody who never even watched Spectacular until after I watched USM. It was just bad enough that I considered giving a show I dismissed as "retarded kiddy-looking garbage" a chance.
Avengers may as well be a sedative, having nothing going for it but "I recognize MCU thing and clap" key-jingling shit for retarded babies.
I've seen exactly one episode of the Hulk cartoon and it was the preachy girl power one with Terrax and Galactus about all the Hulks acting sexist to She-Hulk because plot. I had zero motivation to watch further.
Never watched Guardians of the Galaxy, but judging by the track record I'm not having high expectations.

I watched Guardians of the Galaxy, it was pretty mid, not bad not great. I remember not really liking the animation.

I remember being completely turned off by their art-style. The only show that looked decent (at most) was USM.

Felt the same way. Hulk Agents of SMASH isn't as well put together as the 90's Hulk, but there were a lot of fun moments. My favorite episode was when the Leader zapped Hulk's anger out of him. I was really disappointed in some characters.
>She-Hulk is just the girl. Never acts fun and sexy
>Doc Samson is just some nerdy therapist. Never acts like his lovable Chad self
>A-Bomb just acts like a jackass most of the way through.
I liked his hippy/beatnik personality from the 90's cartoon. I'll contend I remember him being an obnoxious teenager in the Marvel Adventures comics
>Betty Ross is almost non-existent
I found this the most frustrating. I found out she appeared in season 2, and I was excited to see her. But she barely did anything. She just cures Bruce, and only appears for about 4 minutes in the whole episode. No mention before or after.

Worse part is that all Marvel cartoons now have to be at some level MCU adjacent. X-Men '97 and YFNSM both get folded into the multiverse and share some cues with the movies, witht the only independent ones being the preschool stuff.
