She's this weird unnaturally close, tightknit, intimate best friend over the span of a few months (not long enough for them to be close to midterms apparently), so the show tries to patch this up by giving them lines about seeing each other as sibling figures (just like Peter coping about MJ to Felicia, I'd wager Kelly watched a private screening with spider-office) and Nico having serious attachment and possessiveness issues to justify her whole rabid GF routine. And I'm not even being hyperbolic here, their scenes carry this thick romantic overtone and her whole drive is keeping Peter to herself to the point it's the driving force for her conflict and bonding with Harry. The schizophrenic writing is rather fascinating, even though you know it's going nowhere and born out of profound incompetence.

Young Aunt May takes away from how shitty Peter's life is. One of the worst modern day decisions for Spider-Man. Theres a tragedy to Hogh School Peter Balancing Spider-Man, School, his Social life, and making sure his elderly aunt doesnt lose her house because shes so old and cant rewlly work.
