Why did the House of El send Supergirl and Krypto to earth in the DCU?
We know the House of El sent Clark to conquer earth and start harems, but why did they send Kara and her dog?
What instructions did they give them?

Watch "Supergirl: Woman of tomorrow" (2026) and you will learn why
Anonymous No.150065550 >>150065639 >>150065882
You'll have to watch Supergirl next year to find out.
I know in the comics what happened is that a place called 'Argo city' survived Krypton's explosion for a while, but when it too was going to die, Kara's parents Zor-El and Lyla irrc, sent her to be with her cousin using plans they discovered from Jor-El and Lara.

Superman's dog Krypto in current comic canon was the test subject used by Jor-El to see if his rocket would work before he sent his own son.
I guess he couldn't make a rocket which could fit a person in time, because he sent Kal-El to Earth along side his dog companion.

But the movie version will be different.

Is it based on the sword and sorcery mini or just going for an easy name?

It's a silly movie for children about a flying alien who wears his underwear on the outside. Don't worry about it and learn to have fun.

Also this. Watch Supergirl next year

it's allegedly an adaptation of the comic but Gunn also said Superman 2025 was inspired by All-Star and Kingdom Come when the final product looks like Birthright with Byrne's stamp of approval, so I guess it'll be a loose adaptation

Slight retcon to be a Luthor edit in the digital release, we still don't know what the second half of the message says

Krypto is Kara's dog.

idk I thought Superman was great and captured the essence of the character (and his supporting cast) from the comics pretty well

By all logic, shouldn't Supergirl be a villain? The House of El are dicks in this continuity.

In the new movie, yes. In comic books, most of the time, no.
Krypto was introduced as Superman's dog as usually stays that way. Krypto's present comic book has him being Superman's dog, too.

I liked the mini, but any take on a kryptonian with a sword in a fantasy world is good enough for me. I even read that series of issues where supes enters the phantom zone where the kryptonian wizards were trapped. The movie can't be worse than that, so I already won.

People came away with the idea that the Kent's were actually important to Superman. Thankfully Gunn fixed that so they can be ignored again

The digital edition has the daily planet reporting (via the ticker at the bottom of the screen when it shows Maxwell Lord) stating that the recording was proven to be fake.

It can be good.
When I was little papa Kent saving Clark's soul as a last paternal act even after dying so his son could come back hit really hard, the three generation Superman punch was the most memorable thing in that batch of DCs reboots. The difference is doing something with the character or doing a generic thing the audience has to tolerate because they think it's important in some abstract sense. Just like the
>Nice suit
>Thanks, my mom made it
Says way more about his relationship with his parents than any deep monologue they could give, because it's doing something.
