Even after this american producers are gonna invest 0% in new original animation, why they hate it that much?

It's contrived, generic garbage. Nothing "original" about that.

Because purchasing distributing rights is already profitable, I'm assuming.

You're right. It's just that easy to make a hit nowadays because the only competition is globohomo propaganda.

So popular that I don't even have Netflix.

Because they want to see it as a fluke. Sony sold it to Netflix because they decided it wasn't worth putting in theaters despite spending 100million to produce it.

If I'm gonna be 100 percent honest, I kinda liked the film, I liked the colors and the music was a bit catchy and the characters were pretty alright. Only thing I wasnt a fan of was some of the expressions, but other than that I liked it kinda.

Not bad Sony, kinda makes up for the other shit you've made.

Maybe this will be the new formula for original IPs.
>release it on streaming
>generates hype online
>release it in theaters a month later, maybe pair it with a new short
>attracts already existing fan base

I actually wouldn't be entirely opposed, testing the waters like that could allow for more things getting considered for production.

Honestly this could be a thing. Streaming is entirely new and its a quick way to pump up interest on new stuff without needing to advertise it for theaters. Now that Sony knows kpop demon hunters is a hit, they can do the sequels in theaters

Everyone will say
>I'll wait for it to come out on streaming

Basically this. Nobody's willing to pay upfront for original IPs nowadays, for something new to be successful you need to stick it on a streaming service so audiences can watch it for 'free'. Now that the IP has established itself, the sequel can release in cinemas day one.

But not for a good reason. They convinced themselves the audience doesn't want anything new because they threw their lot in with human trash with shitty concepts.

Why aren't these studios cutting their budgets down to minimize risk then? You can have fantastic content made with passionate people all over the world, but nope, it's all got to be DEI hires in urban California with costs of living quadruple the average.
