What happened to your brain, man?

It's not out of hatred, at least not from me. It's out of convenience.
It's the fact that Western comics have been largely monopolized by the superhero genre, and thus have so many different types of stories under its umbrella. A comic like Hellboy, if placed in a Marvel or DC context, would undeniably be considered a superhero comic. It's a technicality thing.
If only those series with characters that wore bright spandex and fought criminals and similarly-costumed villains, a ton of superhero comics, include many from Marvel and DC, would not qualify as superhero comics, and things get muddled. So, for my sanity, I lump them together.
To backtrack, Hellboy is really capeshit adjacent. Like I said before
>>150072513, it's a more thoughtful way of handling these oddball characters and their adventures. It does some of the same genre-mashing, is born from pulp, and even has a Jack Kirby-inspired art style.
