It explores the nature of this universe Darkseid created with the b-side of John trying to patch things up with his wife, I'm enjoying it and think it's pretty tightly written honestly, it isn't a complex story but it's told well. I'm concerned where this will go now though as it was originally planned to end at six issues and then extended to 12 issues only very recently.

During Batman RIP, they established that the gods were basically living ideas. Darkseid almost always describes himself in metaphor (the tiger-force, the hole in all things, IS, ect.), so it makes sense that another being of pure though would actually "see" him and understand how he's warped everything.

We're gonna get an Absolute Justice League eventually but honestly I don't feel like MM will be part of it, John doesn't seek like the type who'd hang around with them and MM's powerset is so strange in this universe. Also maybe it means nothing but the cover for the Absolute Evil oneshot shows pics of all the main heroes but not MM (or John) and instead has a pic of Hawkman?
