Thanks Willis, I think I can finally kick the habit. These characters don’t even possess identifiable character traits any more. The Joe who had moved on from his womanising ways and seemed to want a serious, committed relationship is now fine with being the third in a poly relationship (but essentially a pathetic cuck because he admits Joyce isn’t into him the same way she is Dorothy). Joyce, who had been agonising over having to tell Joe about her and Dorothy then comes straight off that (unreasonably generous) interaction and turns around and acts like a tactless, possessive, gloating cunt to Walky. There are no characters in Dumbing of Age. There is only Willis.

He has a deep hatred of his parents, which translates into all parents are evil. Combine that with how all of his work seems to center around collage age people, left leaning ideas, and alternate sexual preferences and how he's in his late 40s with wife and kids, one can speculate he's desperately trying to recap a youthful time in his life that never really happened. He's in his late 40s, the late 90s/2000s wasn't like now, so i don't what nostalgia he's hunting for, if that's the case.

He has a right to slap her, for being a cheating bitch, then he can look at Dorthy and say you deserve her and walk away blanking them both after that. Of course that would get him at arrested, so instead he should just blank them both walk away. Then proceed to alienate them from his life.
