I honestly hate both sides of the Yugi Ash debate.

With every source available to me… the card game, the anime and manga, Konami tweets, the cookbooks, VSBW… and THERE IS STILL NO WAY TO SEE YUGI DESTROYING A BUILDING, MUCH LESS A UNIVERSE! I’m FUCKING SEETHING that YUGI, who I have WORSHIPPED for 20 FUCKING YEARS, is so UNBEARABLY WEAK that he will be given a FRAUDULENT WIN against a guy who was not only a BETTER TRAINER but also the BETTER KING OF GAMES who can DESTROY MOUNTAINS and CITIES. Okay, from all the threads before. Here is the conditions for Ash vs Yugi - not counting scaling but their arsenal and how it'll be conducted:

>Both Ash and Yugi/Atem gets their show exclusive feats
>Ash's arsenal consists of mons he used for battle in the Pikachu flashback episodes from Kanto to Galar.
>Yugi's arsenal consists of the Ceremonial Duel deck + Eye of Timaeus + DSOD's latest cards to Yugi's deck
>The style of battling to accommodate both Ash and Yugi is based around how Yugi/Atem during the Zorc arc in Egypt - meaning no turn based battling, real time.
>The scaling will be limited to Ash's tenure as well as Yugi/Atem's tenure, meaning no one can cite Liko or Jaden's feats.

Is this fair on both ends? Honestly, DB doesn't even need to use chain scaling to convince us that Yugi could beat Ash through strategy alone.

Now that's the question, if we're going by how DB does it. It'll be an escalation on Yugi's monsters from Duelist Kingdom until the Ceremonial Duel, and same goes for Ash from Kanto to Galar.

I wouldn't expect them to use ALL of it, they didn't even bother to have Simon use all of Gurren Lagann's form as escalation, but it'd likely be Ash's best mons from Kanto to Galar against Yugi's monsters from Duelist Kingdom to the Ceremonial Duel

what explosion? the feat youre trying to use literally does not happen. scaling yugi's power to it is one thing but there literally is no way to quantify speed for it.
this is not even regarding the fact that the "twelve dimensions" are never shown nor stated not to be finite realms of space, so there isn't even a way to extrapolate infinite/immeasurable speed from it at all

The Monsters themselves are also established to just straight up be spirits (so much that in the Millennium World they are called "Ka", "Spirit"), but this doesn't matter much for Ash in specific, because Pokémon can harm Ghost Types as long as the attack isn't physical.

It's just going to be Yugi doing Ka battle summons to fight Ash's team in a normal fight with a couple spells/traps thrown in. Which is why the "he will force Ash to play by yugioh rules so he can punish him for 'cheating' at a game he can't play" arguments are really dumb because in-character Yugi would not do that to a random kid, and if both are "bloodlusted/willing to kill" then base Ash or any of his Pokemon would probably get the jump on base Yugi before he can do anything.
