It's like "welcome home" in that all the character designs are attractive enough to draw in nsfw artists like flies to honey but safe enough to still be kid friendly. It's an "indie animation" but thoroughly safe and corporate at the same time. Smiling friends feels way more indie despite airing on a major network.

TADC is the most popular indie cartoon of all time. The pilot episode has more viewers than the entire population of the USA. The latest episode got more views in 12 days than the number of unique visits 4chan gets in six months. It is insanely popular with Gen Z.

If TADC is a "troon show" then trannies have pretty much conquered western cartoons and you're all just along for the ride.

Digital Circus is just one of the very few that actually succeeded.
