I truly think /co/ is dead because of people like this. And it’s only gotten worse after the shutdown. I know I’m not helping making a list, I’m just curious why something hasn’t been done.

A while ago. Someone in the 4chan happenings thread on /trash/ once said that the mods and jannies follow an "anarcho-tyranny" style of governance where they allow blatently rule breaking threads and posts to stay up while being ruthless against actions that personally offend them.

I am absolutely irrefutable proof of that claim.

For the past several years now, I've spent the majority of my time here reporting rule breaking, low quality threads and posts while simultaneously encouraging others to utilize the report function for its intended purpose against them in the hopes of making the ideal 4chan. A place where on most boards, high quality, civil discourse of various interests and hobbies can thrive, punctuated by entertaining original content and inside jokes of board culture, and where trolling, shitposting, and other types of anti-social and psychopathic actions are rightfuly relegated to, and contained in, designated shitposting playpen boards like /b/, /trash/, /bant/, etc. But since hiro, rapeape, swaglord, abib, and indeed, the entirety of this abominable "moderation" staff are simultaneously too lazy to actually fulfill the duties that they swore they would uphold when they were granted their positions of power, and too greedy and corrupt to ban those who are detrimental to this site's discussion quality and instead care more about the ad revenue they bring, people like me, philanthropic samaritans, are wrongfully discriminated against.

These are just a couple of the several times where they actively targeted and oppressed me for wanting nothing more than for them to actually do their jobs and enforce the rules like they're supposed to. They are knowingly, willingly, and deliberately enabling, and in some cases, outright causing severe levels of damage to the collective sanity and intelligence of the entire human race by allowing the vast majority of conversation here to reach levels akin to that of a children's insane asylum.
Therefore, the only logical course of action to salvage 4chan is to have its entire staff be forcefully removed by any means, Necessary, or otherwise. Once that happens, they must be replaced with individuals who want this site to live up to its full potential as a discussion platform.

That's all well and good and I even encourage it for the most part. I personally only really watch older movies for example. But that's never been how a board's health works. New stuff is a lot easily to have a social experience/discussion around since everyone can enjoy it as it comes out.

I know for a fact that one persistent, awful troll over on /tv/ was simply just a janny abusing his power to spam discussion of certain shows to death. This was happening for close on a decade now and, as far as I care to know, he's likely still around. He would dismiss all reports anons made against his spam, and then hand out near-instant bans the second anyone suggested his secret. Then, in the rare few cases he ever was successfully reported and his shitpostsndeleted, he'd be back within minutes to start it all over again. He'd make whole threads about the topic just to spam schizoid nonsense at himself and drive everyone else out. He was so unstoppable that he actually won. You hardly get any threads about those shows any more.
I can only speak for /tv/ for certain, but I'd put good fucking money down that this kind of schizophrenic powertripping happens here and on almost every other board.

Nothing I said even hints or suggests that I am treating them like half of the discussion so, please don't misinterpret or strawman me. Let me be clear: I have simply seen so many of these threads come and go with the same arguments and points. Complaining feels good and cathartic but very little comes out of meta threads. You have an active choice in what you do and how you contribute and for some reason it feels harder for people to exercise this choice than it does to make threads like this. We can sit here until bump limit and pontificate about culture wars, the state of things, moderation, every single aspect, nitpick, clever and dumb point until the cows come home. And we will just end up back at the point I just made about posting something better. If you honestly believe that something new will come out of this thread, then please englighten me, I will give you the benefit of the doubt and lurk and see what happens but when the thread is gone, just remember you can try what I said.
