No joke, letting her change between forms so she can keep her show and basically have her be a way for Superman to get bad PR would help. This way she's not just stuck interacting with him during fights, and she has a reason to commit crime beyond a vauge "hates Superman". Like, have her commit crimes as Livewire to make Superman look bad so she can trash talk him as Leslie and keep her viewership up, or maybe she tries to sabotage her competition by destroying their stuff. Make it so she can decharge at will. Just grounding herself, nothing necessarily fancy needing to happen. But to get her superpowers back, she has to electrocute herself in a big way. Faceplanting into a power station, etc. Due to her contact with Superman's electrical resistance, she's able to survive it and get her powers back, but it's a massive sensory overload that leaves her temporarily out of control if she's by herself. So that way, yes, you could make the joke that she stuck an electrically unshielded plug in dildo up herself to get her powers back at least a few times.
