I genuinely wish furries NEVER existed. They ruined everything for the people who just like drawing cartoon animals. When my stuff gets called "furry" I get so unbelievably discouraged. The label takes away all meaning from my art , because most furry art is meaningless eye candy, or really gross NSFW shit. some person sent me furry art the other day which makes me think that they think I'm a furry who's into this shit. NO!! I hate furries man I just wanna be a cartoonist! But it feels like I'll never be one as long as I draw cartoon animals. No I do not want to draw humans, I have never been interested in drawing humans. But I feel like I'll have to force myself to in order to get away from the nasty ass furry community.

It's a good idea to learn to draw humans as it will force you to observe more which can enrich your imagination when you do draw your animal characters, not to mention the skills. The difference of competence between someone who can draw a human face and someone who's spent their whole life avoiding it is massive. As for looking "furry", I won't encourage stylistic self-censorship, but large areas of tuft where human hair would go (unless it's a lion) is a give away. Also, simply avoid looking at any cartoon animals created after the 80s (or by Chuck Jones if you want to be mega anti-furry purist) because that's what the first furries were brought up on and influenced the industry with when they grew up. But honestly, there's no avoiding at least one person finding a drawing sexually attractive.
