Working on designs for Puffer and Clarissa one year after the events of the story.

Puffer (age 16)

One year after Lord Jel's death, Puffer is definitely better off since leaving her mom to live in Clarissa's ship town, but it hasn't been a perfect adjustment. She's become possessive of Clarissa and shows no interest in befriending the other kids in the ship town.

>What was the hardest bit to create in your recent update?

honestly, the writing. I get hung up on it pretty badly. Tends to bottleneck what is otherwise a pretty consistent workflow. Iโ€™m at the point where I can comfortably draw just about anything. But knowing the best thing to draw can be a challenge

>>150168491
Thatโ€™s easy, Iโ€™m trying to ask my readers what it is they really want. The hard part is learning that what we think we want and what we actually want are two completely different things, and it takes a lot of living to figure that out. Now itโ€™s way too early for those questions to pop up in my series, but Iโ€™m laying all the groundwork.

That's not easy, even with your disclaimer about the other challenges. You need to have a plan yourself, my friend. You're not going to have fans if you don't know who would like what you make. thatโ€™s a lot of questions that I actually do have a lot of answers for.

For starters, I do have a plan. Wish Fulfillment was started from the ground up with social media in mind. That being said, I havenโ€™t posted any of my comic to social media yet (for a number of reasons).

As far as who my comic is for, I imagine it will be mostly people who are terminally online. My goal is to write episodes that target very specific micro-niches that feel like they were pulled out at random. I think itโ€™s funnier that way.

as far as what I like about it? most everything, Imagining back story, method-acting the characters. I have a ton of fun while writing/drawing wish fulfillment. My goal all along was trying to make it so much fun that everyone can enjoy it. So thatโ€™s who Iโ€™m hoping will flock to it.

If they're actually willing to reciprocate is another story. That's fucking awesome. Especially when discussing loving your enemies and really just the pattern of loving every last damn thing. I've been enjoying using this theme in my story, its not only a great philosophical solution, but it provides for great storytelling tension-and-release because you can build up just horrible suffering and then transform all of it into love by just redeeming everyone and the victims no matter what by any means necessary. In the city there are people who believe in the "two wolves leading the souls" lore, people who believe is a touristic thing or people who don't believe it at all. So Francesco and the others find people in each group either asking them for the soul of a deceased relative or just telling them they're fake ass exorcists.
It doesn't help that the one way to see the wolves themselves is being dead.

Mixing Myths can be tricky business. If you get it wrong it can completely kill the believability of your story, w2840but if you donโ€™t work in the local myths at all it can make the setting feel hollow. Like your characters are just saying they are there but really arenโ€™t. Of course, establishing shots are even better for this, Iโ€™ll need to see what art youโ€™ve put into your story.

No matter what you say in the story, what you show will always take precedence. I expect to see some Marble pillars, Suffocatingly small streets, and Schwarma shops on every corner. Otherwise youโ€™ll never hope to capture the authentic Italian experience.

>Hell yes
Thank you, we try. Its a cape story about a group of roommates who moonlight as superheroes since the Justice League styled system that's in place actively excludes them for reasons that become clearer later on. However, that all goes up in smoke in the very first episode when said JL stand-in gets killed off to the last man by the big bad, leaving our plucky rejects as the ONLY superpowered people on Earth that are not total fucking psychopaths. Along the way they learn about the conspiracy that killed off all the superheroes, but it's also a deep dive into each main character's persona and how they each deal with the various traumas they've accumulated over the years.

We got a single chapter released about a decade back but then life got in the way and i got slapped with the worst depression low ive ever hit in my life. But im finally now and we've both managed to rally and are looking to get things back on track

>What was the hardest bit to create in your recent update.

Kind of tangential to this. I do this thing a lot where I premake alot and then drag and drop them later and it leads to very static art most of the time. I've been trying to not do that and make each asset from scratch each time and it feels like not only does it look better but it's saving time.

Using a silhouette of the MC for part of this scene makes it quite a bit faster but also I love the dramatic look and how much easier it is to pose, lol.

People have complained in the past about giant walls of text in my comic and while the amount of text hasn't changed I'm trying to place it and pace it better.

>>150168491
Honestly man I got too many ideas floating around in this thing but I think he main one would be a call to question what you really stand for and what drives you, along with making it glaringly obvious that the world we live in now is horrifically evil and violent revolution is justified.

That's a very good point and I have asked a lot to Italians about if the lore works or not. Most of them said it does and it was quite original. Of course others will disagree, but I do understand.

I don't think that I'm able to make it an authentic Italian experience due my nationality, but as long as people read it and they are surprised for all the details that you mention, then I'll be OK with it.

OK, so your first comic is going to completely suck ass. Best to make peace with that now. What you will learn by doing it though is completely invaluable and will help you for all the comic that will follow after.

My advice is to do a short story to learn the rhythm, how paneling works, how pacing works, how compositions work etc.
