I used to think this was bullshit but there are like 5 threads in the catalog right now that are just recycling old threads from a decade ago with the exact same text and everything, even referring cartoons that ended years ago as if they're still airing because they WERE airing back when those threads were made. Like there's some bot scrubbing the archives just to remake old threads.

Honestly the time limit on posting probably exacerbated the problem by not allowing real people to flood out bots.
Human posts will almost always be higher quality than repeated shit from a bot. Not to mention bot posts inherently being less novel than the crazy shit real people can come up with.

Sometimes it's political bait, sometimes it's genuine discussion, sometimes it's even webcomic update threads. I used to think this would be the case, but those top shows are now as old as the bottom ones were when /co/ first started and people still generally praise the bottom shows while the top shows get a more mixed reaction overall.
