How did he do it? Was it when Nolan was in the hospital after he killed the guardians of the globe? I can’t think of any other way Mark could have killed Nolan. If this Mark did kill his own father when he was defenceless in a coma and he didn’t even know that Nolan planned to take over the earth this has very malevolent implications for this variant, one might call him sinister.

The alternate versions of each character aren't all equally strong. If you were spoiled on the comic, you know sinister is one of the strongest variants anyway.

Our Mark didn't want to kill or even particularly hurt our Nolan. It stands to reason one that didn't really give a shit would have found a way to win a fight, to say nothing about just blindsiding him for whatever reason.

While being stronger than Nolan is possible, even when the main Nolan and Mark fought, it was clear that Nolan and Mark weren't trying to kill each other. In an alternate universe where Mark was actually trying to kill Nolan, but Nolan wasn't trying to kill Mark, then he might have won in a fight.

But then "murdered" might not really be the right choice of words. If he pretended to side with Nolan, then wait for him to lower his guard and then snap his neck, it'd actually be murder.

The use of the term "murdered" makes it sound underhanded and indirect to me. Like he caught his father with his guard down or betrayed him rather than beating him in a fair fight.

Hell maybe he was just a twat from the get go and surprise murdered his dad who didn't have any plans to start the invasion.
