Why would you like TNG because of fucking Geordi of all people? Like I love the dude, but he's the most milk-toast backgroundish main character I can think of that show. I know they were pretty much doing the dense "black characters love black characters because they're black", but wouldn't Worf at least make more sense?

"because of Geordi" is such an insane line. Then talking up Sisko. It makes it seem like the black character can only respond to fictional black characters.

Now Sisko is a cool fucking character, and most people into DS9 do like it at least partially for him. But in TNG it's probably Data who's the breakout character.

I like Georgi too. He's on of my favorite characters on the show, he's a great guy but also flawed. The episode where they brought back Scotty and showed how different he was and how frustrated they made each other was a great episode.

Sisco was great too but it took 5 seasons for him to get to his peak, aka bald, grey shirt Sisco.

I used to listen to a science podcast where the hosts (three men, one very libtarded woman) were going to read through some sci-fi book series. I think it was Clarke’s Rama books. The woman ended up refusing the participate because the characters are all “old white men” and so she couldn’t relate and couldn’t get into the books. So it’s not just fictional people who can’t relate to characters aren’t just like them. There are also real people who can’t.
