Speaking of OCs, can I rant?

I tried to do a story-driven roleplay / turn-by-turn writing with GPT-5 and it's still SO bad.

I have plenty of experience writing with humans, but this story idea was OC vs OC and non-sexual and somewhat niche and likely hard to find a writing partner for, so I thought I'd try and see how a machine will handle it.

LLMs fail so hard at understanding any nuance or hints (in-universe, in-story) that it's not even funny.

As humans, presumably none of you would have trouble understanding the following instruction, right? This is a phone call from a hidden/unknown number:

Nah, this I actually have very little issues with. 4o used to be (unpredictably) restrictive and "doggy" about sexy stuff. 5 is surprisingly very allowing. And DeepSeek has no fucking guardrails AT ALL if you talk to it not in English, lol. (and probably not in Chinese).

I can easily make GPT generate sex scenes, with penetration and such. It just needs context.

Actually, no. I did try Deepseek. It's extremely fucking awful at actual turn-by-turn story writing / roleplaying. Actually REALLY bad.

I acknowledge that all of them are of course better than a newbie amateur human who discovered text roleplaying 2 weeks ago, sure. But Deepseek can't even understand the boundaries of controlling one's character but not the other one's and of how much is expected from the writing partner in one turn. It doesn't "get" any of it. Overshoots context and control like crazy. I don't know what the fuck it was trained on but it was definitely not good text rp sessions.

Is it "good" at writing something unfiltered and smutty, content-wise? Somewhat (although its writing makes me cringe). But a good roleplaying partner it absolutely isn't.

Besides the AI Studio one linked by the anon above, Nano Banana is also available for image editing in Gemini (it should be available globally, wherever Gemini is available). It can be a good idea to try one or the other, if having mysterious issues with the filters, they're different.

It's also quite powerful and quick when you need to fix a minor mistake in a generation.
