Because live action action movies typically receive a wider audience, and beyond stuff made for kids/family you get a lot less guarantee that you'll get the audience to make bank.
Batman Mask of the Phantasm had 2 live action movies and 65+ episodes of TV show worth of Batman hype, and that movie didn't break even in theaters.
Spiderverse movies & the Pussy In Boots sequel made bank, but have the movies that have tried to copy the more stylistic 3D with maybe lower framerate seem like something people are even interested in? Will the GOAT movie make any money?
