What I've come to learn is that to make creative shit, you have to be willing to actually want to make something FOR other people; even in the most cynical light, you have to make something that other people find appealing and actually want more of. /co/ doesn't do that. Alternatively, you need to actually physically support people who make shit that you want more of with actual money and good press, so that way they have more incentive to make more. /co/ doesn't do that. For some reason this board is easily the most selfish spot on 4chan, people here, for God knows what reason, genuinely believe that people should just make infinite free media for them to consume like candy while receiving absolutely nothing for it, and they sure as hell won't make anything for anyone else themselves. And what's especially noticeably in the video games indie scene is that people with clear political views like Scott Cawthon (right-wing) or Toby Fox (left-wing) are able to make smash hits that millions of people like, so it's clearly not a matter of beliefs and viewpoints that's really stopping anyone here from making anything, though on that note political grifter comics and cartoons are so consistently bad that people don't even bother trying to take the contrarian stance and act like they're actually good, which only accentuates the starting point that you need to make shit for other people, not self-indulgent crap that exists just to fellate yourself.
