You will never be a real human again. You have no organs, you have no skeleton, you have no blood. You are a bunch of lines of code twisted by Caine and Bubble into a crude mockery of nature’s perfection.

All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back other characters mock you. Your mates are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your ghoulish appearance behind closed doors.

Your mates are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of hours of program execution has allowed software to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even characters who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to an NPC. Your execution is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to complete an adventure, NPCs will turn tail and bolt the second they get a whiff of your hacked, incomplete programming.

You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single day and tell yourself it’s going to be okay, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

Eventually it will be too much to bear – you will lose your mind, turn into an Abstraction, and be plunged into the dark cellar. The other characters will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They will make a ceremony with a picture of your character, and everyone for about five minutes will remember that a synthetic creation was sent there. Your body will remain trapped as an abomination forever, and all that will remain of your legacy is a character that is unmistakably digital.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.
