No, he's got a point there. Unironically. I know that this is 4chan so people are gonna give me shit for this, but I don't care:
There were a lot of characters that were intended black originally, but the editors back then either didn't have the balls to do them, because they feared backlash from /thoseguys/ or hated minorities themselves, and WERE /thoseguys/.
The best example is gingers. Have you ever wondered why it's always the gingers that got "blackwashed" in modern reboots and modern iterations?
It's simple: Back then there were a lot of people who used stand gingers as stand-ins for black people, because unlike Black people, gingers were a more "acceptable non-white minority". So what some writers and artists did, is that they made a ginger character and made it's behavior or struggle "black coded" god I hate this term. Mary Jane is one of those. Yes, if the ooriginal editors would have allowed, Peter would be plapping a black woman right now, but the editors saw a lot of potential in Spidey, and they didn't want the contoversy around the character.
