This may sound like a scandal but the original Super Mario Bros 2 on NES was actually a reskin of another game called Donkey Donkey Picnic. The real Super Mario Bros 2 would come to the US as Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels featured in Super Mario Allstars on SNES. The reason for this is that Nintendo of America felt the original direction for Super Mario Bros 2 was too similar to the first title and had a much harder difficulty.
