I'm still disbelief about Fandom killing the Pooh's Adventures wiki. There are so many absurd articles I could've read and had a laugh at, but I never got the chance to read all of them. I had a Miraheze wiki for a manga but no matter how many settings I fucked with Google would never crawl it meaning I got no traffic, meaning I was the only one editing it

I know when it comes to /a/nime wikis, the reason why there are two fuckin' HETALIA ones of all things in this world is because one of the admins got into an ego war with Wikia/Fandom staff over hating the new layouts. He blanked the wiki, got yelled at for that, then decided to make his own while the original got left up and filled with vandalism. The original's still going strong to this day.

Why people use Fandom to make wikis? It's simple Fandom has tools preinstalled that make making a building a wiki very simple.

It's when you try to make a fork of a wiki, you'll find you have to put a lot more work into making wiki. But this is me forking a wiki to Miraheze.

You can't "rebel" against Fandom. The staff will just unperson you and give the admin rights to some dude who will bend to the will of staff. I've seen it that happen a few times, wow and transformers wikis, for example.

They're often not as detailed because you just can't compete with the free detailed work of an autistic fan. Also, even if they do have it, access to it might be more limited. Say you just get hired to do a poster for a company who is doing a licensed comic for a different IP and you're having a doubt about something. Fandom wikis are run heavily by autists, listmaking really gets their sperg juices running.

I used to often browse the South Park wiki a bit back, sad to see what it's become. Like I dove into it so much I found out that the Chinese wiki has an incredibly comprehensive list of literally every character from the show properly categorized.
