Those were the aforementioned Tibbitt seasons, honestly I'm glad that modern SpongeBob has basically became an outlet for cartoonists to showcase their talent, but at the same time you can just tell they're just hosting said great cartooning in a hollowed out corpse.
In a perfect world SpongeBob would've ended at the first movie and we would've gotten tons of wacky cartoons these days with Spumco-like animation rather than a zombie show being the only one doing it. Occasionally there are a couple of good episodes like Bubble Bass Reviews or Delivery of Doom but even they don't come close to the golden age episodes.
