No one really believes that shit you're preaching because those cartoons were the only decent shit the network had at the time, and we already know shit adventure time became at the end.
Anything else was terrible, that's one of the many reasons cartoon networks is dead.
Let's be honest, cartoon network peaked in the 90's and since then, the quality got worse and worse. The same can be said about nickelodeon, the only difference between them is how cartoon network still did cartoons while nick had this obsession with SpongeBob and the million lame teenage Sitcoms they did.
Disney was just there, using their movie licenses to make cheap cartoons, while they tried to make more original content way later, with a strange lamer version of nick sitcoms type of comedy in the 2000's, The difference is disney tv peaked in the 80's an since then it was hit and miss on most of their shows form the 90's and onwards.

It was corporate greed. Network execs realized they could make the same amount of money (if not more) by pumping out focus-group-tested garbage with motion-tweened animation for 6 year olds. Cartoons like Regular Show or Gravity Falls aimed at older audiences are just too big of a risk now

Was it really? These shows were flukes that CN had no real confidence in: adventure time was a nick reject- regular show and gumball were adult swim shows that got thrown onto CN to fill up the block on their Friday nights, remember when they first aired they got 15 minutes and then that was it- that was quite unheard of before.

Outside of these 3 shows what else inspired hope? Korra flopped and gravity falls screwed the pooch with that awful fínale- RS, AT, and Gumball was the equivalent of sticking band aids onto a busted water pipe- it was never going to hold- the downturn started well into the 2000s and continued to do so once those 3 shows hit their seasonal rot.

I find it funny how people were fed up with the UPA-inspired thickline style so they loved how Adventure Time looked, but now, ironically, beanmouth has become what everyone is tired of. The issue is that these days networks are still trying to capture the success of AT and SU so they make beanmouth shit cause it's cheaper and more "appealing" to them when in reality no sane adult wants to watch that kidzslop cause of how oversanitized it is, tons of adults loved Gravity Falls and Steven Universe when they came out, no fucking adults love modern beanmouth slop like Stugo and Primos. They're too scared to take risks cause of how stingy they've become.

This thickline 2000's style is like a thousand times more appealing than beanmouth and the shows actually look unique despite sharing some stylistic fundamentals, we didn't know what he had until it was gone.

I was the target demographic for these shows when they were airing. I liked Adventure Time and Regular Show except when any of the characters were talking about having a girlfriend. I quit watching during both series' respective love triangle arcs. Steven Universe made every episode feel like a girlfriend episode even if it didn't have any romantic tension.
