To add, most avatars stray from interfering in the politics of the mortal plain. They only serve to keep a balance. What balance may that be thou? What constitutes a balance? Aang's disappearance from the present timeline for 70 years allowed one of the most horrid events to take place unchecked. Aang's unwillingness to interfere because it would had gone against his passive teachings. The Avatar simply not existing to begin with wouldn't allow nations to rely on them to fix everything than they should need to handle.

Again none of this shit you’re saying is something Zaheer ever argued nor alluded to, every single argument for Zaheer relies on complete speculation. Moreover Zaheer would not be eliminating the Avatar’s role as the world’s policeman to oversee tyrants he would just be installing himself and the Red Lotus into that role instead. The Avatar, while flawed is still the best instrument for balance the world has. You want to chastise Aang for not handling the Firelord more decisively but tell how would Zaheer manage to beat the Firelord? Technically Aang was too, he was just unable to since he still had to learned the four elements. However, after he had gotten a grasp the four elements the writers had to think of a different obstacle for him for the finale, one which he critically never displayed before

Not exactly. It was mostly Aang's doing. The land was a former Fire Nation colony where the inhabitants didn't want to go back to the Fire Nation nor submit to Earth Kingdom rule. Both Zuko and the Earth King were in fragile positions after the war, so they couldn't just immediately back down. Thus Aang ended up forcing a compromise by carving out the land as a neutral territory that eventually became the United Republic. By Kuvira's time, it had been something like 170 years since that land was Earth Kingdom territory, but there's definitely an argument to be made that it was supposed to be returned to the EK during that time if not for Aang and Zuko sympathizing with the former colonists and the Earth King ultimately caving to the Avatar.
The true lesson is that your primary goal as an invader should be impregnating as many native women as possible so that the mixed ancestry children will become such a large demographic that it'll create a political quandary during peace negotiations.
