It's been ok, not going to lie.
Cautiously optimistic, yet skeptical about how other directors will manage it though. I like Gunn's idea of investing their creative output in good scripts, but a good script alone can't salvage a badly directed movie.
He needs to bring in good directors. The likes of Brad Bird, Gore Verbinski, Andrew Stanton, Sam Raimi, George Miller, Edgar Wright.
B+ tier directors that can deliver great "audience pleaser" movies, can manage a large scale production, and can also "get it" (have a pulse on both the source material and Gunn's vision).
He should also invite Beau DeMayo on to come up with a DCU animated show of his choice.
Same thing with Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer, honestly.
Greg Weisman doing a Captain Atom animated show should be a no-brainer.
Kick Tom King off a curb before he fucks shit up.
Let Grant Morrison write the script for The Flash, without the DCEU constraints. Let him go hog wild.
Let Genndy use his Superman animated movie pitch for an Elseworlds release.
Release both the Schumacher Cut and the Ayer Cut as Elseworlds too.
Snyder's DKR adaptation (why not?)
