NG was already on the way out in the late 2000s as Flash animations moved to creators' own websites (Weebl's Stuff, AlbinoBlackSheep, etc.) or YouTube, and flash games went to either the developers' own websites or aggregators (Kongregate, Friv, Andkon, etc.). You could say it was conclusively over by the time the iPhone became mainstream, as that was pretty much the death knell of Flash as a whole.

The last time I was on Newgrounds was around early 2021, and the entire site was just FNF stuff. Now, even that game is irrelevant. NG simply isn't worthwhile to modern audiences, especially as it's a site designed exclusively for desktop viewing.

The best thing about Newgrounds is that even of your video only gets like 10k views you'll still get dozens of comments and multiple reviews, whereas in YouTube you'd only get a handful of comments
