I miss when the Joker was funny.
When he was a clown who committed crimes, and not just a crazy murderer who happens to dress like a clown.

>I miss when the Joker was funny.
when was that exactly?
everyone says this but outside of a few one liners in the films his comic book plots have never been funny.Laughing Fish isn't funny. Emperor Joker isn't funny.
I always felt the gag was that for all of his seriousness, Batman had a better sense of humor than Mr. J

I think people equate "less focused on killing massive amounts of people and causing suffering for Batman" with "funny." He's never been particularly funny, but I do miss when he had capers with less high stakes.

classic joker's crimes were usually clown or joke themed in nature while the jokes funny to him but not everyone else (hence why he was a failed comedian).

modern joker is just a generic domestic terrorist dressed as a gay juggalo.

NTA but there's an old saying, "how can we miss you if you never go away?" and for me to ever miss the joker you'd have to have an entire generation of readers & fans grow up without the character in comics or other media.

which they won't because too scared to go that long without the joker.

I never really liked the Joker. Since I was a child, he always seemed way unrealistically edgy to me, and 90% of his appearances felt forced. What pisses me off the most is that every time he shows up, all the other villains around him have to behave like utterly retards with no self-respect, just so the Joker can look tough and creepy. He doesnโ€™t even have proper lore. That whole โ€œyou can go insane from one bad dayโ€ idea always felt lazy to me. Villains like the Penguin, Scarecrow, Professor Pyg, and Mad Hatter are all far more interesting, but their potential is constantly thrown away because Joker is le greates chungus villain. Hell, even James Gordon Jr. had a better backstory than the Joker.

I wish the next Batman movie uses an obscure villain like Killer Moth or Manbat, someone who could be fun yet intimidating

Put the blame on bad writers not in the Joker.
