It's an artform i respect and think it's better suited for genres like fantasy and sci fi than live action since you don't have real world limitations to worry about. I also love how it allows for zanier character behavior and expression that Humans can't articulate irl due to biology or because it would be annoying. I'm also not one of those "Animation is art and people should take it seriously!" types but I do think animation that attempts to reach older audiences and tackles mature themes and topics should be lauded, even if the execution falls flat.

Hello from the PAW Patrol threads. Personally I'm partial to a bit of arthouse. Hedgehog in the Fog is more engaging than Tale of Tales, but the latter will stay with you longer. The French are famous for arthouse animation and Chomet makes beautiful things, but Le Jour des Corneilles resonated with me the most. The films of Aleksandr Petrov also have a real beauty that I don't think most kids will be drawn to. Animation doesn't have to be for babies or adult sitcoms; there's much to be said for artistry and the auteur as well.
