How did Teen Titans Go become the most successful DC series and property despite all the hate from Teen Titans fans and comics fans when other series like Young Justice flopped

Well same thing for TTGO. Exchanging the TOS breaking content with a shitty cartoon, of course.

Honestly the focus people put on shit like
>it's the longest running ___!
> ____ has over 10 million views!
> _____ has 500 episodes and counting
Always perplexes me because even despite these things, nobody over the age of 13 even talks about TTG unless it's to shit all over it. It's the same thing when a movie makes 2 billion dollars but leaves absolutely no cultural impact and isn't even held to the standard of being a "beloved classic". Nobody actually likes James Cameron's Avatar movies, but they made a lot of money. Nobody even talks about them. The real mark of a culturally significant show is how people interact with it, and "baby's first superhero cartoon runs for 15 years because it's the only thing the channel runs" isn't much to be proud of.

The people who were kids when TTG started airing are now old enough to post clips of the show on TikTok and honestly all the bits I've seen were pretty good. It's pretty funny, accessible to kids and with something for comic fans too. I'd never sit down and watch it, but after a few months of seeing a clip every once in a while I can soundly say that you'd have to be a faggot to get mad at it.

>2013-14/Season 1 and 2
When the series first started a lot of people were mad that they got this as a full series instead of a final season of 03. People also hated the way the characters acted. I think this was when its hate was at its most irrational. I never really understood how people absolutely loathed this but liked Rock Lee and his Ninja Pals when that and Go! (season 1) were essentially the same show.
>Story-driven animated series gets sitcom-y spinoff with the characters chibified and their traits and personalities exaggerated
>2014-18/Seasons 2-4
1. The show's humor takes an inconsistent turn.
2. Autistic youtube cartoon reviewers have been hate farming this show every other week
3. The Titans have become exaggerations of their already exaggerated selves (as if they took one episode from seasons 1 and 2 and applied it to each titan)
4. there's more potty humor, and they're now starting to mock the people that hate the show.
5. its place on the channel's schedule is also starting to be overtly prominent which pisses more people off, including people that were indifferent to the show
>seasons 4-7/2018-2022
The hateboner those youtubers had for the show went flaccid, they tired themselves out basicaly. But the vocal hate dying down doesn't mean it's gone. Pretty much everyone either blames it or associates it with CN dying because of the schedule problem. And between 2017 and 2022, a lot of good CN shows were screwed over, left to rot and cancelled and a lot of people either blame TTG or have some bitterness towards it because they hate the fact that much better shows got treated like shit while Go! is still going. It's essentially an animated boogeyman.
>Season 7-9/2022-now
Mostly the above stuff but also now younger fans who grew up not minding or even liking TTG find out what happened to CN will begin to hate the show too. CONT

TLDR: It went on 8 years too long and the schedule screwed it majorly. That's what went wrong. What went right was that despite its flaws, the mean spirited humor can sometimes be funny, the songs can sometimes be catchy, it's a treasure trove of DC references, the whole equity/rental property shit they keep doing is hilarious to people for some reason, and there are quite a few episodes where they change its animation/art style and they're usually awesome. When it hits its lowest lows, it's like the worst Canadian cartoon you've ever seen mixed with modern family guy, but its highs are what you'd see from an early/classic CN cartoon.

Nothing specifically went wrong, it was just the pet show of the president of the network during its formative years. Pretty much same reason Spongebob lasted so long. Turns out it's hard for a show to fail when it gets 70% of all of the timeslots for the first 5 years of its existence, killing any and all superior shows due to them being given no chance to actually succeed.

I don't hate the show, but it is only "Just fine" one of those shows like Kick Buttowski or Ghost & Molly McGee, deserved about 3 seasons, but not much beyond that. The show runners made a deal with satan to get it going as long as it has. Personally, i stopped paying attention after season 3, because it just stopped having anything relevant to say or do. It just exists.

Plus as far as the "Time to accept" It's not a thing that needs to be accepted, it's probably going to be. Unless some other DC show gets the kind of rocket strapped to its back by a major network that refuses to allow it to fail or be cancelled, then yeah, i don't see anything else lasting 10 or 11 seasons or however long it's been going.

Kids generally prefer comedy and bright colors to action series with more realistic color schemes.
So as a children's television series, Teen Titans Go was smart to shift in a direction most superhero media doesn't really go to.

TTG, seemingly, became Cartoon Network's Spongebob, dominating their programing, mostly to the acceptance or delight of children across America.
And to the immeasurable dismay of die-hard original Teen Titans fans

Dude you can go to, like, any Walmart in America and visit the dvd section and they'll sell a number of copies of the completed collection of the original Teen Titans show.
It left a huge impact on many people.

I wouldn't be surprised if, decades on, the original show would be more remembered. Since most the kids who watched and enjoyed TTG, probably aren't passionate enough about it to get their kids to watch it, or talk about it once they age out of watching cartoons.

Teen Titans Go was just the exact right show for its time.

>The rise of mobile games killed physical toys. Action animation died and comedies started dominating the industry.
>The rise of streaming platforms and binge culture killed serialized cable TV. Episodic animation started dominating the industry.
>The rise of clip culture killed 30-minute run times. 15-minute half-episodes started dominating the industry.
>The rise of anime killed western cartoons for teenagers. Grade school animation started dominating the (western) industry.
>The ongoing rise of cord-cutting is killing cable TV. The media conglomerates see the writing on the wall. They won't invest in new IPs for a dying medium. So they just keep doubling down on the last big hit each of them had.

Teen Titans Go, SpongeBob Squarepants, and Phineas & Ferb are the last three cable TV cartoons. They're just waiting for everyone else to leave the building before they turn off the lights for good.

Cartoon Network had the crew re-pitch the show as "New Teen Titans" and also had the JLU crew do the same. Register then turned down both pitches, supposedly due to some internal factors of CN wanting to take on less DC licenses.
By the time TTGo happened, so many of the crew moved on and it seems some of them are so burnt out by fans asking "WHEN SEASON 6?", they block or clown on them the way Brianne Drouhard does.

>associates it with CN dying because of the schedule problem
CN filling up all their TV slots with TTG is a big symptom of the "all or nothing" mindset plaguing media industries. If it's not a major hit, it's a failure.
I miss the old days of the 00's when there was real variety. If you weren't the biggest fan of Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, you might like Billy & Mandy. If you didn't like MLaaTR, you might like Kim Possible. The creators could also flex their ideas more. Writers could move from show to show and really hit their stride. Now if somebody wants to write a comedy cartoon, their 2 options are Spongebob or TTG.

Longest running cartoon on a d-list cable channel is meaningless.

Stop 100 people in London, Tokyo, Moscow, Atlanta, Rio, etc. and show them pictures of long running televised cartoons (say The Simpsons, TTG, Flintstones, and your pick of any other 3-4 shows) and TTG will rarely be the top pick, and probably not even in the top three and possibly not even in the top 5, for any city or any country, including any country in the USA. Simpsons or Flintstones will likely top most lists, and other older shows like The Jetsons, or Sponge Bob will likely rank higher in the next tier.
