There's a good video I saw that went over the box office data of Superman.
Basically the gist was that although the theatrical revenue alone wasn't enough to make back the movie's total budget, the various sponsorships deals and online sales have almost certainly led to the movie making a decent profit.

And given it got well received by reviewers, and was mostly very accepted by the internet, WB is cautiously optimistic for the time being.
They'll fuck it up later, no doubt.

Sponsorships can be used to offset the marketing budget. Anyone claiming the marketing budget is $200M or more and anyone claiming the reported Ohio budget (that $363M figure) as the 'true' figure is as reliable as those shills you are discounting.

Anyone who thinks that any production studio isn't lying to Georgia, California, NY, or Ohio about costs, which is how those states tax credit statutes are written and designed to determine HOW much the lying studios will receive, is an idiot who doesn't deserve a driver's license, or access to condoms, or access to liquor, they are that stupid and dumb. This is as true to something like Wednesday, filming in Ireland for tax credits from that company or anyone else, not just something exclusive to WB (or DC); it's certainly something Marvel has taken advantage of as well, and Disney.
