Yes, and it's not even close.
They intended Adora and Catra's relationship to be the heart of the show, but Catra just gets more and more evil out of sexual jealousy, to the point of electrocuting her own side's chief scientist and sending her to Etheria's version of Devil's Island without trial for telling her not to use a portal generator to create an unstable alternate reality where she and Adora can be married. And Catra's reward for being an omnicidal maniac is... getting Adora?
Almost every character is way more fleshed out than in the original series, but the action scenes with the good guys aren't any better, and indeed the Princess Alliance would frequently spend a whole episode goofing off, so only the scenes from a Horde POV were compelling.
