If you were in charge of making a reboot of Gumball, what would you do? Personally I would:

>Gumball, darwin and Anais: Gumball is a mix of his S1 and S2 self. Darwin is a naive optimistic airhead like in S1. Anais is the straight man of the group but she is just slightly smarter than her brothers instead of a bunny version of Lisa Simpson
>Tina has a secret crush on Gumball
>Penny and her family are just peanuts. No fairy bullshit
>No "The Void"

Art and designs
>updated version of the S1 art style. 2d characters have frontal, side and back views.

Your idea sounds like Married with Children where they deserve each other.

If it was me I'd do that divorce arc, but in a ridiculously fetish-fueled cartoony way.
I always liked the divorce arc attempts in Fred Flinstone & The Simpsons where the fat redneck husband doesn't deserve the contrasting innocent nice wife, but they never went through with it because of status quo.

Bart/Gumball also not being too much of a role model himself is also ripe for either drama or wholesome moments with "You're shit like your father, but unlike him you A,B,C and make it work, like using your autism for good"

I'd probably redesign the character so they finally look like cats instead of a mix between a teddy bear and a cat.
