Why does this even happen? Do they hate their fans?

They can't bring themselves to show affection for a white dude because it goes against everything they stand for

Then it was a hell of a decision to go write for the IP that featured the first on-screen interacial kiss in the sixties.

They caved to the transgender influencer who demanded they do lesbians instead.
>Do they hate their fans?
Yes. Them refusing to acknowledge that this was a popular pairing in any of the interviews didn't make it obvious? They spent five years actively pretending that this ship wasn't a thing.

Come on.
That anon is at least partially right. The writers set out to make Boimler the "quirky loser White guy", so him getting together with the protagonist would hurt their oh-so precious archetype, so it's unacceptable to them.
They even wrote a cuck episode for him, where he had a girlfriend, then her ex shows up and things get awkward etc.
If you actually identify with Boimler you can't help but feeling like it's all ridiculous.

Does anyone else miss the times when you could watch cartoons and main girl and guy getting together was the most natural thing in the world. And no one was complaining about it.
And then millennial writers came along and now you can't watch a show without having surprise lesbians shoved down your throat. Because it's "subversive".

Jennifer Sh'reyan is the Paul Rabin of Lower Decks. The character exists only to piss off fans and keep Boimler (Peter Parker) and Mariner (MJ) separate.
