Of all the "wacky animal duo cartoons" of the 90s, this is one of the best ones, easily in the top 3. I like that they introduced new reccurring characters while also using the preestablished ones from Lion King. Simba, Rafiki, The Hyenas and Zazu all had their own episodes. They really didn't have to, but still did it.

Timon and Pumbaa in general are very strongly written characters. I like how Pumbaa isn't necessarily stupid, but moreso naive and good-natured that can get violent if pushed too far. He's closer to post-movie Spongebob than he is to Patrick.

On its own. It's an alternative take on them and the cast with this series. I didn't mind them going ham too much on the out-of-character stuff since it was made to be cartoony from the get-go.
The ladies were pretty cute and hot, too.
