>> Archie Comics's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures: The creative team at the time was preparing for its big epic storyline towards issue #75, "The Forever War", which would have brought back the future "Green Earth Turtles" and showcased the final fight with Shredder. However, the editors at the time balked at this as they absolutely hated the more violent path the comic was taking as well as the "Green Earth Turtles" (it was also because Mirage had started going color around this time and it was taking away from Archie), so they canned the creative team and, ultimately, the title.
TLDR. Archie expected the comic to be like the 1987 cartoon only to get a comic that was more closer to the original Mirage comics.

>TLDR. Archie expected the comic to be like the 1987 cartoon only to get a comic that was more closer to the original Mirage comics.
One thing to note--the Archie comics /were/ effectively Mirage comics. They were produced in house at Mirage by Mirage staff, unsatisfied that the Archie comic was going to be based off the cartoon.

I had no idea Ninjara was that much older than Raph. If not that, at least that much more worldly or mature. Yet as a young lad, I did not think of age mattering that much in a relationship until I got older. It is a comic book, and they both look like they be good for each other. Raph was an unstable hothead teen, and Ninjara really wanted to be with a man.

If anything it helped Raph to learn on not sweating the small stuff over the bigger picture.

I think it worked. Chuck felt like a guy who should had been in college but the post apoc setting deprived gifted people like him of a bright future. Chilton's "betrayal" felt even more heroic because he had a bountiful future under Kane and he intentionally discarded it. Julie being young also worked with being Kane's daughter and with not being his heir-under-training yet.
If they had made them an outright teen team like, say, the Stormhawks then it wouldn't had worked. Or if they had made Jacob and the Duke of Detroit young.
Btw while we're at it. We never got to learn about Red's backstory or his age, but he always struct me as a guy who lost his wife and very young child the day Chilton turned his back on Kane.

Was that outright stated? I was under the impression that it was more "I'm looking for a MAN and you're still acting like a TEENAGER" than her being years older or something.

I've always suspected that Murphy/Allan knew they wouldn't be on the book much longer and wanted to shove Ninjara out of the plane with a parachute ASAP, so she could start appearing in solo indie stuff (which immediately went nowhere, making the whole thing pointless except as a chance to get kids to have their first experience raging that their ship got sunk).

None of those problems are the reason Korra was so bad. It was bad because the writing was bad. Not knowing if they were going to get another season or not doesn't force them to write Amon as a terrible villain, nor require that they waste half the episodes they got on pro-bending and relationship drama. Not knowing if they were going to be renewed or not did not require that they make the Red Lotuses a bunch of fucking retards with a shittier version of Senator Armstrong's plan from MGR, minus the war profiteering.

Everything that's bad about Korra is something that cannot be fixed with more episodes or a larger budget. Bryan and Mike simply believed themselves to be more talented than they actually were and proceeded to produce 4 dog shit seasons that derailed the entire IP for a fucking decade.

Don Bluth hated that execs kept sticking their noses into his works;
>> This trope is also why his Warner Bros. films, Thumbelina (1994) and A Troll in Central Park, failed. Both films suffered from severely-rushed productions; he had to write the screenplay for the former in a week after its original screenwriter kept rewriting it nonstop for a year, while the latter had its production sped up in a failed attempt to make more spontaneity among his crew. When Thumbelina flopped, Warner Bros. responded by giving Troll no promotion and giving it a limited release, ensuring it'd flop as well. He states that animation can be both lighthearted and dark at the same time, yet this trope is the reason as to why Rock-A-Doodle and The Pebble and the Penguin failed, as Bluth wanted to add darker elements yet the higher ups refused. Bluth and his production partner Gary Goldman were so angered by the changes made to the latter film that they took their names off the movie and, after the head of 20th Century Fox offered them the chance to start a new animation division, left mid-production.
