Doesnt this kinda prove Lex's point about Superman?
Most Lex Luthor incarnations dislike that Superman doesnt use his power to uplift humanity. Superman is a literal god with the power to do amazing things like end world hunger yet Gunn disrespects the divinity of the character by having him save....squirrels.

All that shit about Superman holding back humanity is a smokescreen for his real reason. Lex is incredibly petty and hates Superman gets more attention than him and stops him from getting what he wants. He invents philosophical reasoning to make himself seem less pathetic.

So, what's Lex done to uplift humanity?

Nothing, if Superman didn't show up then Lex would be just another bastard billionaire.

He’s not a god and not divine though

What could he have done during that particular place and moment in time that would have been so much more productive and meaningful than saving a squirrel that his act of saving a squirrel instead of doing that was an objective waste of his time and energy? Was someone else in danger, whose life he sacrificed in order to save that squirrel? Was there a critical moment in the battle that he squandered in order to save the squirrel, when it could have won him a significant advantage and prevented so much more damage? Or did he just save the squirrel because it was something that he could do at that moment in time, in that handful of seconds where he didn't have bigger priorities?

Except he does. He keeps Humanity safe and serves as an inspiration for them.
>Superman is a literal god
No, he isn't. He's just a good 'ol boy from rural Kansas who just so happens to be faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound who just wants to do the right thing and help.
>Gunn disrespects the divinity of the character by having him save....squirrels.
There is no divinity to the character. And having him depicted saving squirrels is THE MOST Superman thing we've ever seen him do onscreen. Gunn has proven he's the one filmmaker who understands the character more than anyone else whose committed the character to the big screen.

Anon, I didn't like that movie. Are you dense? Luthor is full of shit. He's jealous of Superman, he's a selfish asshole who does things for his own benefit.

Tell us you never read a DC comic book by admitting you're an imbecile that shouldn't be allowed to pass on your genetic material - not that any woman would ever get close enough to you without you paying them, and professional, thankfully, are committed to birth control

No. He can’t end world hunger. Humanity already has crazy alien tech maybe they could do it themselves???

It sure is convenient nobody ever dies from debris or just falling over in this movie.
