Even if you did think it was cute, which I don't see, there are other ways for the setup than trashing what's otherwise a pleasant ending to an uplifting superhero film about good morals.
I also feel like Supes is a character that shouldn't have swearing in his movies. And if you are then you establish that early, not hamfist it at the end for a side character.
Idk I felt similarly about the middle finger green lantern. It just feels way too forced like they wanted to vulgarity for the sake of it, rather than for any actual reason.
Also I don't into Supergirl, is being a depressed alcoholic part of her character or is it just a thing in this universe? I didn't warm to her whatsoever and doubt I would in her own film.
