If you don't know what it's referencing, that's kind of the problem. A Ukrainian woman was stabbed to death in an unprovoked attack on a mass transit train in North Carolina, but most of the media was refusing to cover it because the killer is black and the victim was white. The video is disturbing. She was just sitting there, minding her own business, when this guy in the row behind her stood up and slashed his knife into her neck out of nowhere. This comic looks like it's supposed to be her POV in her last moments. Apparently the guy had been arrested, like, 14 times before, but was let out on cashless bail because the idiots making these decisions were more concerned about showing sympathy to someone who's crazy than about protecting people's lives.

Also, I think it's edited? The version I saw had the final panel being her tears falling onto her hand? Or maybe there's two versions?

A bunch of rightwing accounts on Twitter made a lot of noise about it, so a few outlets are finally reporting on it, but a lot of it initially was only stories about conservatives being upset about the murder, rather than the murder itself. Looks like word is finally getting out though.
