Nobody is claiming this was a mass shooting. Is your answer to murder with guns just do nothing? Or just make everyone be armed at all times and when people get killed, well, whatever. Nothing you can do about it beyond “thoughts and prayers”? Just accept that any minute you may be shot and that’s life? Even though no other country in the world deals with this level of gun violence that isn’t engaging in open warfare.
>But people are being mean about his death!
It kinda rings hollow to say this when the right actively pushed for violent, provocative and hateful rhetoric against their opponents. When to the right it’s entirely normal to make memes about murdering people they don’t like as “jokes”.
Charlie Kirk himself had said in the past that empathy is a made up hippy bullshit and is actually damaging to the country. Charlie has publicly said it would be patriotic to bail out the guy who tried to kidnap Nancy Pelosi and then assaulted her husband with a hammer when she wasn’t at home. When that is the general attitude and perception of the world he advocatee for, then that’s how people will treat you when you die. I’m sorry but that’s the world you created. I don’t condone his murder or political violence in general or the gleefulness around this but crying about hypocrisy and only being offended when something bad happens to your side is just FAFO.

Conservatives don’t give a flying fuck about mental health. They cut down programs and funding for mental illness all the time.
