I dont know what the worst aspect of that was really. The "improved" animation? The needlessly relevant plot that was so relevant it managed to date itself almost instantaneously? The fact the DVD set's release excludes both the new season and Plantgasm says alot.

It wasn't "random". It was a pre-emptive "FUCK YOU" to Discovery. They funded a bunch of shit before the merger was complete to fuck with Zazlav.

ATHF is the only cartoon i've ever seen that got worse because of "better" animation and not in spite of it. i could tolerate it or the off writing but combining the two just felt like the show was a shitty knock-off of itself.

Carl was always an asshole though. It was a pretty meh movie. ATHF has dipped into satire before like with the flintstones episode but it was never its strongsuit.

Yeah, it’s fine in general but it lacks the charm of the limited budget. It’s honestly a balance of dealing with people with nostalgia and what the show itself calls for. The show looked good and the new animators did a fine job in general, but the whole concept of “you can’t go home again” could apply here, I think they deserve a second season to figure out what they want to be though, they did a good job regardless

I honestly liked the second movie more than the first and it felt more like a movie than the first. Although I do like the DONT TALK WATCH song to this day. I hum it whenever I go to a theater in hopes people don't talk but really watch.
