Nah that's not it exactly. The problem like
>>150383603 said is that the show actually wants you to support and root for these horrible people.
People love evil fictional characters because they are fictional, you can enjoy their stories with zero moral compromises and indulge in a fantasy that you'd never enjoy in real life with real people. Patrick Bateman, Hannibal Lecter, Eren Yaeger, Walter White, Bojack Horseman, Invader Zim, Bloo from Foster's Home, Homer Simpson, Beavis and Butthead, Daria, you get the idea. All of these are enjoyable and rich characters because their origin works treat them as the shitty, insufferable or downright despicable people that they are and make them face the consequences of their actions and get their comeuppance in the end OR if they do get away with it it's very explicitly a bad thing and unjust done for some sort of narrative value to be reflected upon.
Helluva Boss is just plagued with juvenile narcissistic writing desperate for validation so it makes the mistake of genuinely wanting to preach to you about how the scummy protagonists somehow deserve your forgiveness and support and that their misfortunes are sad tragedies when they aren't, it's just what they deserve and should happen to them if not for their sins for their stupidity and patheticness.
HB really REALLY should have just stayed a dark comedy played for laughs with few and far in-between serious moments for character development. This would have solved the whole problem with zero effort.
Remember people, learn to write before you actually write something you wanna be proud of.
