So I've been mulling over what I think the hardest part of drawing is, which of course most people would probably say it's the backgrounds; but then I started thinking, WHAT is it about backgrounds that's actually the real hard part? To which I figure, it's actually the sheer amount of individual elements you gotta keep track of, making sure not to forget anything, like if I wanted to draw some kind of beachside scenery there's up to (but definitely not limited to):
>sky
>clouds
>water, and all the associated effects like foam, transparency, etc.
>physical particulate matter like algae in the water
>rocks and other tiny minerals
>dirt, other organic ground stuff
>plantlife on the land
>discarded organic stuff like seashells
>miscellaneous animals in the water, sky, and on the ground for flavor
>random manmade things
>etc.
And speaking of manmade stuff, I think that's the real nitty-gritty of the difficulty here: if you want to do something like interior design, how do you keep track of so much shit, especially for things that can have tons of variations (particularly objects like vases)? An encyclopedia? A huge list of booru tags? What's the modern solution for this ancient problem, chief?
