it killed most of the good the faith the first season built. at least the back lash was enough for riot to thread more carefully next season.

Its kind of sad. The ideas, the story threads, the animation, it had it all, but you could see it was rushed. It had to skip so many story beats that it just ended up not making too much sense.
It felt like they had a story board made, an someone came in and halfway into making the first two episodes told them to cut down the story by a half or more. So they had to shove in the romance, all the character introductions, the split up, the get back together, but nothing had time to develop. So you end up with rebound sex leading to literal betrayal of a whole city, because you could not find the time to show how attached a person is to another.
And again, shame, because you could see that the story tellers were competent in the first arcane, and you could also see parts of the plot they had to skip trough. Shame.

I liked it, as long as you turn your brain off for some parts, other parts are still prettyt good. You can kind of tell that ep 5-7 were in plans for a long time and the rest was kind of a mess that filled around it when they switched writers.

I thought it counts as it's own universe because league skins are the characters from alternate universes

Season 1 was amazing, I can't even think of a single bad episode.
Season 2 was utter trash, the only good episode was the alternate reality one - everything else was corporate approved rebellion (but not too rebellious!) slop. They ruined Jinx just like they ruined Harley Quinn, the whole appeal is that she's a crazy villain girl, you don't need to make her "empowering" or a "leader".
