I drew quite a bit of her last Spooktober myself. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice's reception seems to have been mixed but I really enjoyed it. The fact it's release coinsided with MeTV Toons airing the show was a fun treat too.

I have mix feelings on it to. A lot suffer modern slop conventions along with to many cooks in the kitchen with half-baked plot contrivancea being an issue and solved without complication to move the movie along. I felt like Beetlejuice Beetlejuice should had been a Netflix show like with Wednesday. Casting and story issues aside. It was still a fun watch.

I'm also glad that MeTV Toons decided to air the old cartoon again. Especially along with The Real Ghostbusters. Nice having a Cartoon Network with some classic toons on the digital airwaves. No gatekept behind a digital paywall or a subscription fee.

Rushed endings are an issue present in alot of later Burton projects. Dark Shadow's features an equally unsatisfying and needlessly condensed conclusion. The relationship between Depp's Barnabas and Green's Bouchard even mirrors the Beetlejuice/Delores one. You get all this build up at the start of the film, you watch Bouchard seethe from the sides as she devises new schemes to corner Barnabas and his family with, and just as the rising action is coming into play they shut the lights and call the curtain. I really do wonder why that is, how do you make the same mistake twice?

Anyways I couldnt agree more, MeTV Toons is a blessing. It's one of the few good things left in life. I just wish digital antennas werent such finnicky pieces of shit.
